a drawing of musculoskeletal system

The musculoskeletal system is the set of human body parts that most directly affect the movement. Its components can be grouped into three main sets:

  • passive components (i.e. those that maintain balance and ensure the movement) are formed by the combination of the skeletal system and articular system, supported by bundles of connective tissue, called ligaments;
  • functional components, including all organs and systems involved in ingesting, reprocessing and disposal of the substances needed to produce energy, together with the cardiovascular system, the respiratory system and the excretory system, spleen, liver, pancreas and digestive system;imulus very quickly;
  • active components, i.e. those systems in which are combined all the elements and chemical substances produced and processed by the functional components and that allow the movement, that is the muscular system and the nervous system.
