Digestive system

Digestive system is the set of organs that allow you to absorb and use the energy that the body needs to carry out its vital functions and that takes through nutrition. In fact, its specific task is the physical and chemical breakdown of food, turning it into more simple substances that can be absorbed by the intestine before moving into the blood and lymph and being circulated throughout the body. The organs involved in digestion are digestive tract (oral cavity, pharynx, oesophagus, stomach, intestines) and digestive glands (salivary, gastric and intestinal glands, pancreas, liver), originating the juices that transform the food chemically.
